Who is responsible for your data

This site is goodbettingsites.co.uk. The data controller is the operator of this site, contactable at hello@goodbettingsites.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

If you sign up for offer alerts

We store the email address you give us, which sport you said you bet on, the fact that you confirmed you are 18 or over and consented to be emailed, and the date and time. We also store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address and a short record of your browser's user-agent string, purely to detect and block automated abuse of the form. The hash cannot be turned back into your IP address.

Our lawful basis is your consent. You gave it by ticking the box, and you can withdraw it at any time. We use the address for one purpose only: emailing you about betting offers. We do not use it for anything else and we do not pass it to third parties.

If you use the bet tracker

Nothing is sent to us. The bets you enter are saved by your own browser, on the device you are using, in its local storage. We cannot see them, they are not transmitted anywhere, they are not backed up, and clearing your browser's site data deletes them permanently. They are not visible to anyone else using a different device or browser.

If you use the calculators

Nothing is collected. Every calculation happens in your browser and no figure you type is sent to us or logged.

Server logs

Our web server records requests in the ordinary way — the page requested, the time, the response status and the requesting IP address — for security and fault diagnosis. These logs rotate and are deleted automatically. We do not use them to build any profile of you, and we do not combine them with the alerts list.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. Not analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, not session cookies, and there is no third-party tracking pixel. That is why you are not asked to click through a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. You are welcome to check with your browser's developer tools.

The bet tracker uses your browser's local storage rather than a cookie. That is still data on your device, but it is never transmitted — see above — and you can clear it with the "clear all my bets" button or by clearing your browser's site data.

Third parties that necessarily see something

• Bunny.net delivers this site as a content-delivery network and terminates the HTTPS connection, so it processes your IP address and the page you asked for as part of serving it.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site uses from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when the fonts load. We are looking at hosting them ourselves to close that off.
• Postmark sends us the notification email when someone signs up for alerts, and so processes that email address on our behalf.
• Migadu hosts our own mailbox, so anything you email us is processed by them.

These are processors acting on our instructions, not parties we sell data to. Bookmakers get nothing from us: if you follow an offer link and open an account, whatever you then give the bookmaker is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.

How long we keep it

Alert sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and are removed within 30 days of either. Abuse-prevention hashes are kept for 12 months. Server logs are kept for 30 days. If the offer-alerts list is ever discontinued, we delete it rather than keeping it in case it is useful later.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to withdraw consent, to object to how we use it, and to have it given to you in a portable form. Email hello@goodbettingsites.co.uk and we will act within one month, normally much sooner. We will not ask you to justify the request.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to raise it with us first, although we would rather you did so we can fix it.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18, and the alerts form requires you to confirm your age. If you believe we hold data about a child, tell us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will say so at the top of this page and, where the change is material and you are on the alerts list, by email.
