Good Betting Sites compares welcome offers and free bets from UK bookmakers. There are a great many sites doing that. Most of them rank offers by the size of the number in the advert, which is the one thing about an offer that tells you least.
What we do differently
We put the significant terms on the front of the card, and we order offers by what they are worth once those terms are applied. A "bet £10, get £40" offer with a seven-day expiry and a 2.0 minimum odds requirement is frequently a worse deal than "bet £5, get £20" with 30 days and no odds restriction, and you cannot tell that from the headline.
The calculation is not hidden. It is the same one in the free bet calculator on the home page, with the inputs exposed so you can change the assumptions and see what happens. If you disagree with our margin assumption, put your own in.
How we are paid
Commission from bookmakers, when an offer is live and someone opens an account through it. We say so on the home page, in our terms, and here. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not decide the order — the valuation does. We would rather tell you an offer is mediocre and keep you coming back than talk you into a bad one once.
What we will not publish
- Tips, predictions, "banker" bets or systems. We have no idea what will win, and neither does anyone selling you the idea that they do.
- Any claim that a bet or an offer is risk free or guaranteed.
- Offers from operators without a Gambling Commission licence for Great Britain, whatever they pay.
- Invented reviews, invented star ratings or invented customer quotes. If you see a testimonial on this site, it came from a real named person who agreed to it.
Betting is not a way to make money
We run a site about betting offers, so we will say the obvious thing plainly: over time, betting loses money. The margin built into every price makes sure of it. An offer can be good value on the day and betting can still be an expensive hobby, and both of those are true at once. If it has stopped being a hobby, our responsible gambling page lists the people who help for free, and GAMSTOP will block every GB-licensed site at once.
Corrections
If an offer here is out of date, a term is missing, or something reads as pressure to bet, tell us at hello@goodbettingsites.co.uk and we will change it. Corrections are the cheapest possible way for us to stay worth reading.
